Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK. The Lead Biome Artist will be entrusted with the power to sculpt entire worlds, ignite awe-inspiring artistry, pioneer production methodologies, and uphold budgets, all while relentlessly pursuing unparalleled excellence. We are seeking a leader who epitomizes empathy and clarity, driving the team towards boundless creativity and flawless execution.
Reporting to the Art Director, the Lead Biome Artist is a practical artist, inspired not only by the games industry but also by film, nature, photography and natural composition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deep understanding of modeling, texturing, composition, colour theory, vegetation and optimization – these should be shown in your portfolio through both shipped game projects and in personal work.Experience with Vegetation generation pipelines - both using and implementingProven and clear understanding of PBRExperience in writing documentation with clear explanations of processes, workflows and limitationsProven experience in conducting managerial duties such as stand-ups, feedback and communication with peers.Experience in working with Art Directors to develop direction and quality goals for your team and project.Have experience with cross-discipline collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of professional experience as a Biome or Vegetation artist, ideally as a Lead.Experience of working on AAA games set in realistic Environments/WorldsAbility to Assemble, Lead, and work within teamsStrong organizational skills (time management, planning, communication)Possess a good knowledge of PBR workflow and shader techniquesModelling experience focused on Vegetation generationPhotogrammetry experience - both in pipeline and implementation formOptimization experience in Unreal Engine 5
