I am working with a large telecommunication company based in London and they need a Land Cable Technician to join the team. This role will involve office work and global travel to sites.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct site surveys including earth resistivity measurements
- Engineering design of Land Cable and System Earth installations
- Production of drawings for installation including Land Route Diagrams
- As-built reporting of site surveys & installation
- Unrepeatered system testing, both on land and at sea
- Jointing and testing of Land Cable, Beach Joints and System Earths
- Cable Termination to company Terminal Station Equipment
- Liaison with the cable factory and Project teams
- Detailing procedures and completing H&S Risk Assessments
Training provided:
- Type-C Land Joint Qualification
- Fibre-Optic testing & cable-handling
- Laser Safety, Power Safety & Confined Spaces training
Requirements:
- Technical Education
- Suitable for recent completion of electrical/mechanical apprenticeship or worked in telecommunications installation
- Practical & hands-on aptitude and willingness to travel
