Rather than using harsh chemicals they seek to develop products that work in harmony with nature, are sustainable and can help growers to reduce their carbon footprint.They are looking for a senior analytical chemist with a background in environmental / soil testing to join their team as Laboratory Manager. You will manage all aspects of a small laboratory ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and product quality - this is a hands-on working role.RoleMaintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other laboratory accreditations.Development and validation of analytical methods.Conduct routine analysis and produce timely, accurate results.Authorise results and CofA's; communicate non-conforming results with operations and propose technical corrective actions where appropriate.Ensure equipment is suitably maintained and consumables stocked for the efficient running of the laboratory.Supervise and train technical or laboratory staff and monitor performance.Establish laboratory procedures, create and manage lab-related documentation and organise laboratory activities.CandidateDegree in Chemistry or related subject.Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a busy, analytical laboratory.Strong understanding of Analytical Chemistry techniques and ISO17025.Ideally a background in fertiliser and/or soil analysis.Experience of ICP-OES and Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA).Excellent communication skills, and to work well within a busy team.Excellent organisational skills are required, along with the ability to work to deadlines.Ideally some supervisory background, or training of staff
