at COEX, in the Gangnam district in the heart of Seoul.
We're looking for a Korean Editor to support our translation and editing work for Frieze Seoul#####4. This role will work directly with teams, assign tasks to the assistant editor and translators, manage tasks, and ensure consistency in tone across all content.
Responsibilities:
Translate a variety of documents from English to Korean and Korean to English with precision, clarity, and cultural sensitivity.
Oversee translation projects, including task delegation to the translation team, establishing deadlines, updating the style guide and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality translations.
Proofread and edit translated and original documents meticulously to maintain consistency, coherence, and adherence to established style guides.
Foster collaboration with each team to comprehend project requirements, provide regular updates, and address feedback effectively.
Offer guidance and support to translators, ensuring the maintenance of translation quality and relevance through constructive feedback.
Conduct research and stay updated on industry-specific terminology and language trends to enhance translation quality.
Work effectively under pressure and in live-time scenarios, demonstrating quick response and adaptability to meet urgent project needs.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
Requirements:
Native proficiency in both English and Korean.
Proven editorial and translation experience in English to Korean and Korean to English contents.
Previous experience or knowledge of translating and editing both visual art contents and marketing materials is desirable.
Strong editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
A certification in translation, linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office suite.
