at COEX, in the Gangnam district in the heart of Seoul.
We're looking for a Korean Assistant Editor to support our translation and editing work for Frieze Seoul#####4. The Korean Assistant Editor and Translator for Frieze Seou#####24 will collaborate with the Korean Editor to provide support with translation and editorial tasks.
Responsibilities:
Translate documents from English to Korean and Korean to English accurately and efficiently, ensuring the preservation of the original meaning and tone.
Work collaboratively with the Korean Editor and other team members to maintain consistency and quality in translations.
Edit translated and original documents as necessary to rectify errors and enhance clarity.
Meet project deadlines and contribute to the overall success of translation projects.
Communicate effectively with the Editor and team members to clarify requirements and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Continuously enhance language skills and stay updated on industry developments and best practices to improve translation quality.
Work effectively under pressure and in live-time scenarios, demonstrating quick response and adaptability to meet urgent project needs.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
Requirements:
Native or near native proficiency in both English and Korean, with a strong grasp of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary in both languages.
Demonstrated translation experience, in English to Korean and Korean to English contents.
Attention to detail and accuracy in translation and proofreading.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
A certification in translation, linguistics, or a related field is desirable.
Previous experience in translating visual art content is preferred.
Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office suite.
