The Company
Skillfluence works in partnership with universities, research centre and other academic organisations to develop and deliver programmes that equip postgraduate researchers, academics and professional services staff with the tools, skills and confidence required to do meaningful work. We offer highly interactive workshops that provide tools, techniques and knowledge that can be put into action immediately, to transform the way researchers think and perform. Our aim is to help researchers maximise the social and economic impact of their work, and also to realise the value their skills and expertise could have on industry and society.
The role
In this role you’ll be training and coaching researchers and academics in our most popular knowledge exchange programmes. This will include topics around commercialisation, innovation, engaging with industry, networking and communication. We’ll train you in our content and approach and on a day-to-day basis you’ll be delivering training directly to our customers whether that’s online or in person.
You’ll be trained to deliver our existing programmes and you’ll also develop new training content for online, on-demand and in-person delivery. You will work closely with the rest of the core team including the training operations team to coordinate training logistics and evaluation and the training design team to influence, inform and create content.
As well as your university experience we’re looking for someone with experience of knowledge exchange, perhaps through tech transfer, working in industry, public engagement or entrepreneurship who is able to bring personal experience and credibility to their training subject matter. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of training and development in the higher education sector.
Our training programmes are a combination of online and in-person delivery. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the U.K., the role will include travel in the U.K. and Europe.

Duties
Deliver training programmes online and in person in the UK and beyond
Deliver 1-2-1 and 1-2-many coaching and facilitation
Training design and development and creating online and in-person learning content
Continuous improvement and evaluation and quality assurance of our training
Interact, network and liaise with industry speakers, academic speakers and support organisations
Develop and maintain strong participant and stakeholder relationships
Coordinate training, coaching and travel logistics with the Operations Team and customers.
Identify customer need, opportunities and influencing future engagement
Skills and experience
Essential
Experience working in HE with academics/researchers on knowledge exchange or educated to PhD level in any discipline.
Experience of knowledge exchange, commercialisation or working in / with industry
Enthusiastic, approachable, energising trainer with a growth mindset
IT skills with experience of delivering engaging training both online and in person
Expertise in designing practical, interactive training or teaching programmes
Personal leadership and initiative
Practical, collaborative and customer focused
Professional written and verbal networking and communication skills
Coachable with a continuous improvement approach and committed to lifelong learning.
Desirable
Experience of delivering coaching
Experience of facilitating group working and building cohorts
Tech transfer experience/ knowledge exchange/public or policy engagement or starting a business
A grounding in evaluating and measuring change through training interventions
Experience of interviewing guest speakers and/or facilitating panels
