Fareham Live is currently under construction. Once completed, it will be a multi-use venue consisting of a main house with 800 seats, a second space with 120 seats, and additional space for classes and events. The venue will also have café and bar spaces and will be fully accessible and modern. It is expected to open its doors in the autumn. Roles in new venues are highly sought after, and being a part of the opening team is a unique and special opportunity.

About this role
An exciting opportunity to join, work, and lead within a newly-built theatre offering various menus, the Kitchen Team Leader manages and is responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen. Managing a team, youll deliver a high level of consistent and quality food through multiple food services. From a daytime café menu to working with the central support team in delivering private and corporate events within the main auditorium, the venue offers a unique, diverse food service. The postholder will be responsible for the financials of the kitchen, maintaining budgetedGPs,and minimising waste while supporting in developing the venues offer in collaboration with the theatres management and the central hospitality team. The Kitchen Team Leader is also responsible for supporting and promoting the Group's Food Safety Policy and Food Safety Management System, ensuring they are fully implemented at all times.
About you
As a motivated, engaging, and dynamic leader youll have flair of creativity with a keen eye for detail alongside experience of preparing and successfully delivering high standard of food services in an events, restaurant, hotel, catering or similar business background producing quality, fresh produce. Youll have an understanding of the current Food Safety and Health & Safety rules, regulations and legislation, ideally, along with a NVQ level 3 qualification, or as a minimum Level 2 Food Safety.
Key responsibilities
Food preparation and service of the daytime café, evening grab-and-go and event catering
Excellent organisational skills, effectively overseeing the ordering from the groups nominated supply partners and procurement platform, ensuring food preparation and delivery of food services, within timeframes, maintaining high standards and quality throughout, ensuring stock rooms are adequately stocked, maintained, and rotated for every service in accordance with the companys stock management policy.
In collaboration with the venues senior management team, achieve and maintain the appropriate costings and budgets, minimising waste and executing the groups menu specifications accurately.
Work evenings, weekends & Bank Holidays.
Ensure all equipment is adequately maintained through monitoring, due care, and diligence, following the companies process and procedures.
Basic understanding of IT, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Support with developing the groups food offering, when required, in food development sessions as led by thecentral teams,Group Support and Development Chef.
The ability to lead a team, effectively communicating with colleagues and venue management ensuring preparation, and service deadlines are adhered to, delegating when and where needed.
Competent in the efficient execution of kitchen administration, including documentation of food safety and cleaning records in accordance with the Companys Food Safety Management System.
Ensure appropriate quality control measures and hygiene practices are at all times implemented and achieved in accordance with health and safety legislation and Company policy.
To act as an ambassador at all times for the venue and Trafalgar Theatres.
Dress in accordance with Company uniform policy and wear protective clothing where issued and instructed.
The post holder with carry out any other duties as appropriate to the post and as requested by the senior group hospitality leaders.
