Manpower is recruiting a Kitchen Manager on behalf of our public sector client.
Location: Exeter
Contract: Temporary until mid June 2024
Job Type: Part time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 1 pm (Term time only)
Hourly rate: �12.80 per hour
Start date: Immediate subject to satisfactory written references and enhanced DBS check (Manpower pays for the DBS check)
The role
As a Kitchen Manager you will lead the kitchen. We are looking for a talented individual, who has great cooking skills along with a passion for preparing fresh food from scratch.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day preparation of meals to a high standard within budget
- Order food and materials
- Maintain a hygienic kitchen
- Effectively manage another member of the kitchen staff
- Promote the service to attract the maximum number of children and positively encourage healthy food choices
- Possess knowledge and experience as a Kitchen Manager along with the minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Catering; Level 3 would be preferable
- Have a proven track record of managing teams and controlling catering budgets
Requirements:
- Valid Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 3 or equivalent
- Practical experience of operating a large scale commercial catering kitchen
- Ability to communicate at all levels both verbal and written
- Ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH
