Kickstart Junior Business Development & Marketing – Job Purpose:
This is a great opportunity for a young person to join our established Business Development team to shadow and support the senior business developers.
This is an exciting, fast-paced role focused on helping the team to create new business opportunities.
Kickstart Junior Business Development & Marketing – Duties and Responsibilities:
– Being shown how to search planning application tools to find new warehouses which are being built and may need the services of Westbrook.
– Learning how to use the company database to add details of new potential customers so that the business development team can contact them.
– Being shown how to use Sharepoint software to create project folders with drawings and details of planning applications which have been made.
– Being trained on all of the products and services offered by Westbrook so that you can have conversations with customers to tell them about additional services which may help them.
– Searching social media and websites to find potential customers and adding them to the database.
– Creating folders for large customer projects when required by the external sales team
– Once fully trained, contacting prospective and existing customers to establish current requirements
– Following up on quotes created by the external sales team to make sure that customers have received them and answer any questions they may have (after training on how to do this.
– After full training, replying to online chat queries to answer questions from customers.
– Answering incoming calls and dealing with them appropriately
– Printing of data sheet information for on-site customer enquiries.
– During quieter periods, going through the database to make sure that all of the information is up to date and correct.
– When Westbrook attend an exhibition, supporting the members of the team who are at the exhibition with any information or support they may need.

This Trainee role will be working as part of an established team with full support and training.
Westbrook do not expect applicants to this role to have experience in a business development role.
The most important thing is that you will be a friendly, approachable and adaptable "people person" who enjoys chatting to people and that you are naturally curious and keen to learn new things.
If you can demonstrate good telephone skills and a real desire to work in a business development oriented environment, we'd love to see your application regardless of your previous work experience.
An ability to use initiative and aptitude and with a good eye for detail to work things out, deal with issues and solve problems, along with a real commitment to “getting it right first time” and a willingness to develop, learn and progress will also be useful.
It will be important to be generally good with IT, able to multi task and to be methodical, tidy, structured, well organised.
