Key Account Manager (FMCG) - UK & Ireland
Fiber Foodservice Europe-Asia-Oceania (EAO) business segment offers high quality molded fiber and paperboard packaging for food and beverages across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Middle East, and Africa.
We serve quick service restaurants, coffee shops, retail, and vending operators as well as egg, fruit and vegetable producers. We also operate with a broad range of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods customers.
The segment has a turnover of €1.5 billion (#####), 6,100 employees and 31 manufacturing sites across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Middle East, and Africa.
We are currently looking for a
Key Account Manager (FMCG)
for the UK & Ireland market to work, ideally in Northern Ireland, or UK mainland. As a Key Account Manager, you will grow profitable sales across carton board packaging products within your defined Account portfolio, to meet and exceed company targets. You will identify profitable growth opportunities with existing customers and identify and win new business, in order to grow Huhtamaki's market share.
Main Responsibilities
Regular contact with existing and new customer base
To develop a network of contacts across all customers to ensure you are engaging with and promoting Huhtamaki across all relevant functions and departments including Purchasing, NPD & Technical, Marketing and any others relevant.
Ensuring all pricing is up to date and clear to customers and internal colleagues to minimise price queries & prevent any risk of customers delaying payments versus agreed terms.
Liaising with Customer Services Teams to ensure that communication around orders and deliveries is as efficient as possible.
Provide customer forecasts to relevant Demand Execution Managers to ensure forecast accuracy is maximised in order to maximise supply chain and stock holding efficiency.
Prepare and send all customer quotes in a timely fashion.
Written visit reports for all customer meetings to be uploaded to Salesforce to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
Maintain an accurate log of customer contacts within Salesforce to support mailings/marketing activity where appropriate.
Where appropriate maintain all Rebate forms to ensure that Commercial and Pricing Support teams have an accurate guide to accruals and payments beyond invoice price.
Maintain an up to date and accurate pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce to ensure that Category Lead and Head of Sales for the UK&I have full visibility.
To carry out Sales presentations to customer and internal stakeholders as required.
To liaise regularly with Design, Planning, Purchasing and Production to ensure all manufacturing sites understand supply status and timescales on any new developments.
To ensure that all Commercial Agreements & Contracts are up to date and accurate, and fully understood and agreed by Category Lead.
Analyse sales trends and dynamics of current business to identify areas of opportunity or threat and adopt appropriate plans to manage these.
To achieve personal targets as outlined in the annual budget and to review these with Category Lead on a quarterly basis.
To prepare a monthly presentation/report for the Category Lead outlining performance for period, year to date and highlighting any forthcoming initiatives, threats and opportunities.
Formulating a sales budget / forecast with the Category Lead.
Budget to be developed by month and to include sales and profitability.
Monthly review of budget against actual with the Category Lead.
Experience & Skills Required
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar sales/key account manager role.
Experience in packaging or selling to FMCG customers.
Demonstrable experience selling and negotiation using a structured process.
Experienced at working in a highly collaborative cross-functional team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of customer dynamics.
Engaging and persuasive presenter with the ability to build an immediate rapport.
A proven ability to undertake a wide range of activities to drive sales growth.
Creative approach and ability to converse at all levels.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team - internally and with customers.
Enthusiastic with energy and drive.
Hard working, reliable and resourceful.
Adaptable, flexible and forward-looking.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
