Escape Recruitment Services Commercial Division are currently supporting our client on an exclusive basis, recruit an experienced Key Account Manager.

Our client is an established and successful Manufacturing and Engineering organisation based in West Lothian; they have experienced progressive growth to date with further strategic grow planned for the future and part of those plans, include growing their Commercial team.

This role will be an office based at their manufacturing headquarters in West Lothian. Supporting the Business Development Director and working in an established and supportive technical sales team, you will be responsible for providing account management responsibilities to Key Customer accounts.

You will have full ownership of the commercial relationship of each key account, both contractually and financially relating to pricing and profitability. Building exceptionally strong Customer relationships through delivering consistent customer service levels in terms of delivery, quality, responsiveness and service and support expansion. Furthermore, you will be responsible for growing the account, increasing profit through organic growth.

Responsibilities Include

  • Establish and manage current Customer relationships, striving to capitalise on organic revenue growth opportunities.
  • Responsible and accountable for the Customer Profit and Loss with a focus on meeting / exceeding clearly defined financial objectives.
  • Manage and execute period based pricing activity covering materials, purchase price variance and value add costs.
  • Meet or exceed the expectations of the Customers. Listen to the Customer needs and translate those into action that meets or exceeds customer satisfaction goals in terms of delivery, quality, responsiveness and Customer focus.
  • Create and execute Customer account plan including strategies to increase profitability, account penetration, service expansion and customer loyalty.
  • Responsible for tactical execution of established contract terms and / or involvement in negotiation of contract terms for new/developing customers.
  • Build and develop multi-level relationships with Customers and internal departments.
  • Partner with internal functions to communicate and manage the needs of the customer (eg Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement and Engineering).
  • Drive regular Customer review meetings.
  • Produce internal Customer account reports, acting as the internal representative for Customer accounts which will include internal Stakeholder communication and updates.

Background Required

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the Manufacturing&/or Engineering sector in a relevant technical Sales &/or Customer Account Management role.
  • Educated to degree level in a related subject such as Business, Engineering, Finance etc preferable &/or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Able to demonstrate previous Customer account management experience and achievements.
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to build strong relationships with all levels including Stakeholders and internal departments.
  • Confident IT skills, this should include MS Office, CRM databases &/or ERP/MRP systems.
