This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Senior Manager - Treasury & Credit Risk for the company's daily Treasury activities including but not limited to, cash management activities, forecast and planning, payments, foreign exchange transactions, Treasury systems, Treasury accounting and transactional bank relationships.
The Treasury function regularly reports to the Chaucer Finance & Investment Committee and to a wider Finance group on all treasury activities and this role will act a support to the Senior Manager - Treasury & Credit Risk. Communication skills (both verbal and written) will be key to the success of this role.
Banking
Support in maintaining banking administration to include but not limited to mandates, bank account signatures, user profiles and KYC requirements
Secondary contact for operational queries with key banking partners
Manage payments for business activities utilising our Treasury Management Tool and banking platforms
Cash Flow Forecasting
Responsible for short term cash flow forecasting and reporting to include weekly analysis against plan
Analyse bank fees and costs ensuring tariffs are current and recommend cost savings
Liquidity Management
Support the Senior Manager manage liquidity in line with Group policy and tolerances ensuring efficient transfer of funds for investment to enhance returns
Support the Senior Manager prepare liquidity analysis and compliance reporting to the business
Accounting
Responsible for the preparation of cash journal entries
Preparation of bank account reconciliations and monthly reporting to parent
Other Support
Automate the payments process to ensure all payments are completed in compliance with best practice governance and controls
Enhancing current TMS system usage
Administration of all banking and Treasury systems
Essential
Relevant experience of treasury function & cash management in an FSA regulated environment
Studying towards professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, AMCT)
Experience of a Lloyd's treasury function
Knowledge of treasury Operations including daily liquidity management, cash flow reporting and forecasting
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Ability to be thorough when necessary
Strong technical and analytical skills
Ability to use initiative, vision and imagination
Self-motivated
Very good interpersonal skills
Good communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels
