Job Opportunity: Junior Sous Chef
Location: Sandsend, Whitby
Salary: �35,000 per annum + Share of Service Charge

We are seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to enhance our kitchen team. This pivotal role supports the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and plays a crucial role in maintaining and elevating our culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of kitchen operations, ensuring efficient production and high-quality standards.
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu development and execution, including the creation of new dishes and menu planning.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality and presentation.
- Manage inventory and order kitchen supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Enforce strict health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a high-volume, upscale restaurant or hotel kitchen.
- Strong foundational cooking skills with a broad knowledge of various culinary techniques and cuisines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about food and culinary arts with a drive for continuous learning and innovation.
- Effective communicator, capable of building good relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
