Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse - Chemotherapy

Are you a highly motivated nurse who would like to join the Chemotherapy Day Care team at Woodlands Day Unit ,Whipps Cross Hospital? Our nurses work 4 shifts per week (4 x 9.5 hr shifts).The unit is open Monday Tuesday, closed Wednesday and open Thursday ,Friday. The Woodlands Day Unit treats patients' with malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions and delivers immunotherapies to rheumatology and gastroenterology patients. In addition, we offer supportive treatments to a wider group of Oncology patients . The supportive treatments include: intravenous and oral systemic anti-cancer treatments, blood products ,hormone injections and CVC line care. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Chemotherapy Nurse to join our small friendly team . You will be working as part of the multi- disciplinary team and should have good communication and organisational skills.Main duties of the jobTo provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic patient care in conjunction with the inter-professional team. As a proficient practitioner in SACT care, the post holder acts as a professional role model and clinical teacher. He / she will also provide effective mentorship and supervision, participating in the education and training of nursing and non-nursing staff. He/she also takes charge of the Day Care Unit as required, liaising closely with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with continuing responsibility. The post holder will be asked to perform the Nurse coordinator at times - coordinating all the prescriptions, blood tests and confirmations in advance, so that treatment production /dispensary occurs in a timely manner.About usBarts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.
