Our client based just outside Felixstowe is looking for a Junior Accounts Clerk, with prior office or job-related experience within the shipping industry.
Job Role�
Banking
o Twice-daily bank reconciliations between online banking, excel tracker and accounts package, including the posting of payments to the correct customer accounts.
o Liaising with operations when certain invoices are settled.
Sales Ledger
o Adding charges to jobs and raising invoices to customers.
o Sending statements to customers as per schedule or upon request.
o Assisting operations with any immediate invoices that need raising.
o Managing Customers float balances and reconciling when required.
o Processing Customer credit applications
o Chasing for Customer payments when needed, and raising with Finance Manager if further action is needed.
o Weekly Customer reporting to Finance Manager and Directors.
Filing management
o Maintaining paper filing process
o Filing completed job files and managing these on a centralised excel to ensure 100% accuracy.
Reporting to and assisting with any other tasks the Finance Manager may see fit.
Qualifications and Skills
� Hard-working
� Good time management
� Experience using the Microsoft packages
� Have an eye for detail and is numerate and accurate
� Proven ability to manage and prioritise workload, is organised and efficient
� Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, ability to develop great relationships with others
� Sage 50 experience desirable, but not required
� Knowledge of the industry required
� Good Customer Service
� Good communication skills, both written and verbal
