Job overviewAssociate Director of Temporary Staffing NELFT/ELFTThe Associate Director of Temporary Staffing is a joint role at both North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) and East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT). This role will be pivotal in developing and executing a strategic workforce plan for temporary staffing within both organisations. Reporting to the Deputy Directors of People and Culture at both Trusts, the role will be a key member of the senior leadership team providing strategic and operational leadership for both temporary staffing functions.Key areas of responsibility will include:Leading and managing the temporary staffing function for both Trusts to create centres of excellence for the delivery of a comprehensive, responsive, high quality and cost-effective service.You will be managing relationships at a senior level ensuring excellent communication and working relationships are maintained and relevant management information and data is made available to demonstrate delivery of service level agreements.Main duties of the jobProactively working in partnership with key stakeholders to develop a strategic workforce plan for temporary staffing as part of the wider resourcing strategy for each Trust.Development/continuation of an agency reduction programme in line with national and local targets.You will be required to deliver efficiencies through innovation and technology, to ensure a timely, efficient and commercially viable service is provided to all users in accordance with the Trust values, quality standards and budgetary constraints.Required skillset:We are looking for someone who has significant senior management experience operating at a senior level in the NHS or large public or private sector along with experience of advising on temporary staffing issues/solutions at a senior level.Experience of implementing/managing large commercial contracts successfully.The ability to manage extensive stakeholders successfully is essential along in addition to a strong track record of delivering KPIs, SLAs and external targets.Interview Date: 24th April 2024Working for our organisationThis is a joint role with both North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) and East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT). NELFT is the host employer.Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
