The ESPUG IT systems are an essential supporting service for the wider business that the Head of IT is responsible for delivering with the support of the IT Systems Engineer and IT Network Administrator. Core services are being moved to Microsofts Cloud alongside a Change programme of Digital Transformation implementing Microsoft Dynamics.
This role is highly visible across all internal areas of the business, as well as having interaction with external parties.
Role Purpose
Deliver effective day to day operational IT services across the organisation alongside implementation of the IT strategy. This will involve a mixture of project delivery and managing 3rd parties to ensure delivery of an effective IT service to the business.
Support the Head of IT in ensuring the capacity and availability of the IT systems is maintained to enable ESPUG to continue to grow and operate gas, electricity and water networks.
Key Responsibilities :
Responsible for the procurement, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, email provision, anti-virus software, print services and peripherals
Maintaining cyber security, preventing internal and external attacks
Supporting and maintaining ESPs Azure tenant, including Azure AD and Exchange Online, Intune & company portal
Managing all hardware/software assets
Managing licences to ensure compliance of licencing contracts
Working with third party vendors, suppliers and support partners currently deployed on IT projects
Providing IT support, advice and training as needed
Implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices (including those for information security, data protection, disaster recovery, purchasing, and service provision)

Previous experience of a hands-on generalist IT role in an SME environment, including.
Managing Windows Servers
Providing Office 365 Administration (covering Intune, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and Power Platform)
Azure platform management in a commercial environment
Scripting (Powershell)
Documenting configuration and developing user support materials
Networking, IP schema and associated aspects
Key skills we would like to see (Desirable)
Relevant qualifications (Microsoft, ITIL)
Experience of Microsoft O365 management
Experience of an ISO27001/Cyber Essentials Plus environment
