IT Systems Engineer

Murray McIntosh are currently searching for an IT Systems Engineer to join an important client of ours in the security and surveillance industry.In this role you would be configuring bespoke IT software for our client's customers based across the South of England.Our client's systems are deployed across a range of regulated industries, casinos, oil and gas platforms and public infrastructure (train stations & airports) where the need for security is paramount.Key details:
This is a role where you will be visiting client sites 3/4 days per week. The remaining days you will be working at home, writing reports and visit notes.
You will be visiting clients across the south of England, inclusive of London.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a background working with IT software, configuring software for bespoke applications, video and audio systems (IP) & Windows OS.
Experience required:Configuring bespoke IT software.IP video and audio systems experience.Strong IP protocols & networking principles knowledge.Windows / IT Background.Troubleshooting Windows OS components (active directory, file sharing, clustering, GPO, performance monitoring etc).Experience networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (Switches & routers).Cloud technologies.Understanding of server vitalisation concepts.Experience with SQL databases.Understanding of TCP, IP & UDP Protocol stack.Understanding of network storage (SAN, NAS, iSCSI) principles and best practises.Background in software / IT verticals.Must hold driver's license and passport.We are looking for candidates who are organised, able to work independently, and have excellent communication and relationship skills.
This is a customer facing role, where you will be working as part of the project team.
