The Design Museum’s IT Department provides technical services across the museum to employees, partners and visitors and is responsible for ensuring that key technology services are delivered in line with business requirements.Join the Design Museum as our System Administrator, working directly under the Head of IT and AV in a Team that shapes the IT landscape within the world of contemporary architecture and design; in a pivotal role within our team of four and putting you at the heart of delivering change across critical IT Services.An opportunity to bring your experience and skill set to a growing department and to build a wide portfolio of skills in IT systems and service provision.Job scopeThe Systems Administrator will ensure the smooth operation of services and facilitate the maintenance and planning of IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities include working with externally managed resources to maximise efficiency and seize opportunities to transform processes, systems, security services and support delivery for internal teams.You will be comfortable problem-solving infrastructure and system-related issues and developing user policies, training, and standards for IT applications. You will work alongside our IT and AV Analysts to provide a growing brief of services.You will demonstrate the museum's core values and behaviours, providing a secure and efficient systems estate and managing a busy service desk to ensure a focus on customer and client satisfaction.Job description System productivity tool configuration and maintenancea live production environment whilst developing key transformation and automation initiatives.and administration of the MS365 estate in a hybrid Azure environment.a well-structured MS admin centre and develop processes to support staff efficiently.and maintain the MS Teams and telephony environment.Systems access and data securitywork with suppliers to maintain and create interconnectivity between systems with oversight of transport protocols and relational databases. Examples include CRM development within MS Dynamics 365, EPOS, Cascade (HRIS), Focal Point (finance purchasing system), and SharePoint.to and maintain a business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery plan.of Hyper V and Veeam to fulfil a storage strategy which corresponds to the BC plan.take responsibility for the creation and implementation of a risk-oriented approach to security by developing an appropriate framework of people, processes, and procedures.develop policies and profiles to support safe and efficient working.maintain a rigorous role-based approach to access.Device procurement and onboardingand develop onboarding and device management using MS Endpoint to sustain and develop automation and functionality across the estate of devices.technical support and guidance to users.Onsite infrastructure and systems integrationfor configuring and maintaining the Domain Controllers, Switches, Servers, and Access Points within the museum.a cabling and cabinet environment which will support the growing need for digital devices throughout the museum.a small estate of Multi-Function Device printers and implement a print management system.AV and IT Supportwork share ticket workflow and be the 1st point of escalation for 2nd or 3rd line issues.support the AV and IT Analyst with the set-up of AV devices; especially configuring data for sound and video.with and supporting volunteers to ensure their full integration into the museum.ensure our user base and volunteers are given the best possible working environment.Person specificationKnowledge, skills, and experienceEssentialin Computer Science or related field or at least 4 years of experience with an equivalent Microsoft Certification in networking or systems administration.responsibility for the development of deliverables related to implementing systems and data projects.motivated self-starter able to work independently and as part of a small team.interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong relationships, negotiate and influence.understanding of data protection laws and support.Desirableof working within a structured project framework such as PRINCE.with AV hardware and software maintenance and configuration.to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.with Mac systems (JAMF) and hardware maintenance and setup.working in the charity/not-for-profit sector, ideally in museums.of and interest in design.Terms and conditionsSalary: Up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.Holidays: 25 days + Christmas Eve (museum closed).Hours: 35 hours per week (5 days per week).Location: Design Museum Kensington
