IT SpecialistNorth London - Onsite6 Months contract with extensionOffering £180 - £250 Per DayMy client are an leading Higher Education organisation that are looking for a IT Specialist to join the team and be responsible for being at the forefront of the support team and providing an efficient 1st class IT support to all users. Collaborate with theHead of IT to maintain/implement infrastructure solutions.Your responsibilities:IT Systems administration in a Windows and Linux environments. Work with the IT team to produce and maintain IT documentation for the IT department. Assisting the IT team with IT Spec for large AV & Electrical services. Assist in commissioning and decommissioning of all ICT Installations. Responsible for Cisco network switches, Meraki WIFI access points, VLANs and routers. Telephony, maintain our VOIP telecoms system, softphones and the cisco infrastructure network. Audio Visual systems, relay feedback on updates necessary from faculty staff and collaborate on projects with the Head of IT. IT Assets, Maintain the IT asset database, and labels including annual checks. Print management, maintain the Papercut print solution and suppliers with all printer issues. Projects Assist on implementations at local level as directed by Head of IT. Help grow the department and venture into larger projects Present verbal and written reports on the diverse tasks to the Head of IT. Formulisation and maintain IT policies in line with GDPR. Maintain daily prechecks on all AV systems including server backups and printers. Work with HR to maintain the starters and leavers process including asset allocation. Assist all users with the primary needs on the diverse areas of support: services, install/update specific software, Wi-Fi and AV facilities. assist on preparation of training sessions and documentation for all users. Operate Management tools (Acronis, MS SCCM and ESET) in place to maintain services and hardware used on the daily bases by the IT department. Assist in developing internal solutions to keep the user PC's reliable at all times. Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting all network related problems. Reorganize and clean Patch Rooms, Server room and the ICT office To support/maintenance of existing AV facilities in all rooms; Coordinate room bookings of AV equipment and maintain inventory; Support on the implementations of solutions required by the event organisers.A successful IT Specialist will have:IT Systems administration in a Windows and Linux environments Working within Facilities and suppliers on maintaining and supporting large AV systems Supporting users and dealing with a ITIL based support ticketing system Windows server in AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPO. VMware, Veeam, Cisco & Meraki networking switches, VLANs, Gateway routers.
