Overall
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Programme Manager, the IT Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing projects within the IT delivery portfolio. The IT Project Manager will successfully deliver assigned IT projects, within agreed budget, project framework, quality, and timescales.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple IT projects (large and small and varying complexity) from inception through to transition to BAU across the full life cycle of project.
Identify project delivery risks and issues and assist the team so they can overcome them.
Create the appropriate project management documentation in accordance with the project framework.
Create detailed project plans, estimated resource effort and timelines in collaboration with the wider IT team.
Where necessary, provide guidance, support and intervention or escalation.
Empowering and inspiring the resources allocated to an IT Project to deliver successful outcomes.
Oversee and manage assigned technical resources, ensuring timely delivery of IT projects.
Work with 3rd party suppliers, where applicable to the project, to ensure successful delivery.
Collaborative and engage effectively with IT teams, and business stakeholders.
Other:
Undertake other relevant tasks, projects and activities as directed by the Programme Manager, CIO, or other Director of the Company.

Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task effectively.
Essential Skills
Proven and demonstrable experience of managing IT projects across varying technology functions, such as Software and applications, IT infrastructure, IT governance, Data, and analytics.
Strong experience with Project management methods and techniques, including stakeholder management, negotiation, conflict management, planning, business case creation, dependency management, issue and risk management, budget, and resource management.
Pro-active and able to look ahead for potential problems with IT projects and take preventative or mitigating actions in advance.
Able to drive and manage effective organisational change and experienced with the tools and practices that effectively manage and facilitate change effectively.
Liaising with IT suppliers / managed service providers.
A good technical background coupled with an understandingof IT functional teams and how they operate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Proven ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
Experience in the insurance or banking sector or highly regulated sector.
Strong MS Project experience or other project management tooling.
Desirable Skills
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Agile using Scrum/Kanban framework and techniques of continuous improvement.
Knowledge of software testing and delivery.
Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Kanban, and Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of IT Governance and best practice standards, such as COBIT, ITIL4.
