Role: IT Procurement Manager

Location: Cambridgeshire (two days a week on site)

Salary: From �300 per day

Duration: Six months minimum

Sellick Partnership Recruitment Services are currently looking for an Interim IT Procurement manager to support our public sector client based in the East of England on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing public sector organisation. You will be responsible for leading the procurement team which is a small team of officers and leading on tender exercises.

Main Duties of the IT Procurement Manager:

  • You will lead the procurement team which supports all services across the organisation to develop best value for money
  • To provide expert procurement and contract management advise to stakeholders
  • Exercise robust procurement and contract management practices which comply with current legislation
  • You will lead on all end-to-end procurement related activities
  • You will be responsible for development of the team and supporting other staff
  • Delivering corporate procurement support
  • To thoroughly understand the people, structures and strategy of the organisation to be in a position to influence area for business improvement
  • To support business change projects and support the successful delivery of procurement projects
  • Identify any areas for improvement of procurement systems and lead on the implementation of the changes.

Our client is looking for a motivated and ambitious professional with relevant skills and experience to support the management team.

Key Skills and Experience of the IT Procurement Manager:

  • CIPS Diploma, NVQ Level Diploma in Supply Chain Management or an associated discipline - Desirable
  • Excellent standard of drafting tender documents
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK public sector procurement regulations
  • Ability to understand work with the e-tendering portal and other procurement systems
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels
  • Knowledge and understanding of the procurement cycle
  • Public sector experience - Local Authority
  • Staff and Team Management
  • A 'can do' attitude to getting things done that supports a teamwork approach
  • Manage workloads within tight timescales.
