We seek to delight our customers, enable ourcolleagues, accelerate business performance, increase shareholder value, and protect our businessthrough the innovative and agile use of technology and data.To harness our full potential across our customer, operational and colleague journeys, as well as ourenabling domains, platforms and programmes, we are changing our ways of working and transitioninginto a product-led organisation at scale.Together we are building a better BA (British Airways).Job DescriptionAn IT Finance & Resources Manager is needed within the OCIDO to lead a small team to managebudgets, allocate resources efficiently and ensure that initiatives are aligned with the overall financialgoals of BA Digital.Purpose of the role:You will contribute to the BA Digital’s financial health, operational efficiency, and successful executionof IT initiatives by:Developing and managing the IT budget, working closely with BA Digital leadership andfinance teams to ensure alignment with overall goals.Collaborating with leaders across BA Digital functions to understand the financial implicationsof proposed initiatives and provide insights to support decision-making.Allocate resources effectively to support initiatives and operational activities ensuringadequate staffing.Identifying and implementing cost management strategies to control and reduce IT expenseswhile maintaining service quality.AccountabilitiesWorking in partnership with BA Digital, and the business to:Lead a team of analysts to manage Financial Operations, Capital Expenditure, and ITResources across BA Digital in line with organisational goals set by BA Digital and thebusiness.Develop, monitor, and analyse budget performance, identifying variances andimplementing corrective actions when necessary.Optimise resource allocation and utilisation across BA Digital including personnel,hardware, and software, to support business objectives accounting for headcount, skills, andknowledge requirements.Provide insight to long-term IT strategies by using financial modelling techniques toforecast future IT expenditure and resource needs.Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency andeffectiveness of IT resource utilization and financial performance, generating regular reportsfor management, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.Establish and enforce financial governance policies and procedures across BA Digitalensuring compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and industry standard.QualificationsEducated to degree level or equivalent experienceDegree in relevant field such as finance, accounting, businessadministration, or a related discipline is preferredRelevant certifications in finance, project management, or ITgovernance (e.g. CMA, PMP, COBIT).SkillsExemplary leadership skills, with the ability to manage and developteams to the best of their abilities, leading by example and workingcollaboratively to deliver results.Strong financial management skills including developing and managingbudgets, analysing financial data, and implementing cost controlstrategies.Proficiency in allocating resources effectively to support IT initiativesand operational activities.Forming strong stakeholder relationships, with a proven ability ofinfluencing and persuading internally and externallyAbility to convey complex technical and financial information to variousstakeholders. including preparing reports and presenting findings tosenior managementStrong analytical and problem solving skills to identify and addressfinancial challenges in IT operations.Ability to set priorities and guide others towards the accomplishment ofstrategic business goals and objectivesAbility to work under pressureFluent written and spoken EnglishExperiencePrevious experience in financial management roles, particularly withinan IT context which might include financial analyst, IT budget analyst, ITasset management or related positions.Demonstrated success in overseeing a finance team, includingexperience in managing analysts, minimally within the context of a smallteam.Experience in developing and managing budgets alongside resourceallocation and optimisation.Familiarity with IT operations and infrastructure.Experience of successfully completing and influencing complexanalytical assignments, and of complex problem solvingExperience of operating across multiple countries and cultures isdesirable, but not essential.
