IT Field Engineer

Job Description
Field IT Technician - Edinburgh, Scotland.
We are recruiting an experienced 2nd line IT Technician who is either looking to expand their skills and move into a field engineer role or an established field engineer for a client who are based East Coast of Scotland. A driving license and your own transport is essential. However, a company vehicle could be arranged.
The role will involve working at a variety of client sites across Edinburgh and beyond up to 1.5 hours.
The duties will include
Either remotely or onsite, undertake maintenance work at customers IT services updating case management and field services tools with work undertaken and completed.
Provide installation and configuration services for a wide range of IT solutions.
Provide high quality customer experience in relation to the installation or maintenance of a customer's IT or Telephony services.
Provide remote or onsite support for colleagues where required.
Liaise with the project management teams, 3rd Line Engineers and Service Desk Engineers on a regular basis.
Audit and document client infrastructure.
Support the delivery of small, medium and large projects as part of a team.
Undertake field fault visits to repair time-critical service or hardware failures.
Work efficiently with our account management and service departments to manage projects.
Essential Skills
Prior experience in an MSP IT or Telecom Support or Delivery role.
Be able to work efficiently by themselves and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible as you may be required to adjust working hours or stayover on some larger project work.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Experience with the Microsoft technology stack including Windows Desktop, Windows Server, M365)
Some experience in networking equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless technology.
Salary
The basic salary is £35,000 - £37,000 negotiable
Car Allowance of £450 per month - £5400 Annually
Overtime / travel time will be paid at time and half. Generally this is 1.5-2hrs overtime each day for travel to and from your first and last role to home. If it was only 1 hour per day 5 hours per week, this would be an extra £7k per annum.

The hours of work are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
