IT Director

We're looking for a strategically focussed and high calibre IT Director for a key role leading the IT function at a leading construction services company. You would be expected to improve and continually enhance the performance of the business through the use of technology.
As a highly experienced technology leader with significant experience in IT management and a proven track record of leadership and successful project delivery, you would be instrumental in shaping the company's tech strategy, taking responsibility for infrastructure, security, IT operations and projects.
Salary circa £100,000 with excellent benefits which include 25 days annual holidays plus bank holidays, car / car allowance, Bupa options, health insurance and life assurance.

The Role
As the IT Director you would be responsible for overseeing the provision of a value driven IT service to the meet the business needs and future requirements. This will include the delivery of continual service improvement, managing strategic supplier relationships and delivery, and ensuring that IT has sufficient capabilities to be able to deliver business strategy. The immediate key objectives are to simplify/reduce the complexity of management information systems, clarify accountabilities, improve governance and reduce costs.
Key responsibilities will include…
- Mentoring a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, software developers
- Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and security of the organisation's IT infrastructure,
- Develop and implement cybersecurity measures to protect the organisation's data, networks, and systems
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure IT products and services
- Manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, projects delivered within budget constraints
- Ensure all IT practices comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices

The Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
- Proven track record of leadership and successful project delivery
- Thorough and up to date knowledge of IT best practices and technologies
- Strong understanding of networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure best practices
- Stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills
- Strong leadership and management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of IT best practices and technologies
