The role

As an IRM Asset Engineer you will ensure assets and associated equipment from the Service Line Asset group are safe to operate and fit for purpose to meet project requirements. You will provide guidance and support for assigned assets and project teams as well as regular updates to the Project Management team and to the Service Line Director regarding status of assigned assets.

You will assess lead times, system needs and reliability of repaired items and advise Service Line Director the cost effectiveness of a repair or new purchase.

Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager and Logistics department concerning all export of controlled materials. Work closely with Fugro sister companies to aid development of equipment and work practices.

Responsible for providing guidance and training to other members of the asset engineer team.

Ensure that Fugro personnel are given advice regarding asset capabilities (including commercial team support).

You will assist in the development of maintenance plans, setting maintenance standards for all asset equipment.

Ensure assets are maintained I.A.W. Fugro maintenance procedures and guidelines. Review and maintain maintenance records for each assets assigned, track equipment failures, noting any trends to identify problem areas for further investigation and improvement. Participate in FATs for systems assigned to Fugro.

As the IRM Asset Engineer you will be the first point of contact for control and support for the assigned assets. You will recommend spares inventory levels for ROV Systems. Liaise with Project Managers to ensure offshore inventory control is followed and offshore teams have sufficient spare parts available for repairs and maintenance. Receive all asset related stores requests from the assigned offshore ROV Systems and authorise purchase or repair of items as needed (subject to Service Line Director Budgetary approval).

Regularly monitor stores requests, work within agreed budgets and not exceed standard inventory levels on the system. Liaise with Cost/Project Controller on monthly budget reviews. Manage delivery of equipment/asset upgrades and refurbishments. Carry out audits of allocated assets at pre-determined intervals set by the asset team. Partake in On-Call roster for after hours and weekend asset support. Liaise and aid Certification section to ensure asset and equipment Certification meets required standards.

Responsibility for all Vessel Assurance documentation and client queries where applicable.

Who we're looking for:

Liaises closely with the Engineering Dept. regarding engineering support required for mobilisations. You will coordinate daily with Fugro personnel regarding maintenance and any equipment issues, communicate with Project Managers and other Fugro staff regarding any asset related problems as well as with the Logistics team to enable delivery of purchased spares to the assigned systems. Chairing weekly vessel meetings with Offshore Vessel Manager and Project management team.

Coordinate with Purchasing department concerning queries regarding spares, repairs and any specialised services. Liaise with Equipment Repairs Coordinator and receive/review updates on equipment repairs and tracking of equipment sent for repair. Liaise with the ROV workshop on Asset mobilisation or repairs/overhauls.

Recommends new ideas and processes to improve the way the department works, its overall efficiency also its services and the quality of support to project teams.
