Investment Director



Location: Hybrid/Remote – office in London, Geneva and Cyprus within Europe



Experienced VC Principal with Proven Analyst Skills for the Investment Director Role



Our client is an innovative venture firm pioneering a proprietary systematic big data and



algorithm-driven investment approach for growth and late-stage (GLS) ventures. Our mission is to offer large and institutional investors consistent access to higher alpha.



Leveraging an extensive database that recreates data tracks for the majority of GLS companies,



Role and Responsibilities



As the Investment Director, your role demands extensive analyst expertise, emphasizing deep data analysis, market research, and the ongoing automation of financial modeling.



This operational role has the potential to evolve into a key strategic position and reports directly to the firm's partners and managing directors.



Key responsibilities include:




  • Drive the firm's investment strategy and define areas of focus.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with founders, co-investors, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead the investment team, fostering collaboration with the data engineering and automation team.

  • Prepare final investment decisions for the Investment Committee (IC) and manage the portfolio of investments.

  • Set performance goals and metrics for the investment team.

  • Represent the firm within the broader startup and venture capital community.

  • Collaborate with sourcing channels for potential investment opportunities, expanding the sourcing network, research, and industry connections.

  • Conduct due diligence on startups, evaluating business models, market trends, and financials.

  • Develop and automate financial models and valuation analyses to assess potential returns on investment versus risks.

  • Organize the portfolio management cycle, including reporting and early exit identification, approval, and execution.

  • Mentor and supervise junior analysts and associates.



Education:



A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, economics, or engineering is required. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or a Master's in Finance are highly desirable.



Work Experience:




  • Minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in venture capital or private equity, showcasing a progressive career trajectory.

  • Prior experience as an Analyst or Associate, with a demonstrated ascent to a Principal role.

  • Expertise in financial analysis and modeling, showcasing strong quantitative skills.

  • In-depth understanding of startup ecosystems, industries of interest, and emerging technologies.

  • Proven track record of successful investments and exits, underscoring a history of sound decision-making.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a history of fostering collaborative and high-performing teams.
