We help advisers to develop informed investment recommendations so that, with their support, their clients can make the decisions that are right for them. Focusing first and foremost on in depth, qualitative fund research, we provide tailored support and investment services for financial advisers and institutions.The RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to focus on development and maintenance of data sets and analysis that drive understanding of investment performance, as well as, scenario analysis and forecasting future returns. You will have opportunity to influence overall Data Model and further the quality of its data sets and associated analytics. This will require understanding of the third-party data sources that feed into the data model. The role will also involve contributing to other data and systems related projects to develop and enhance the way we work.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of investment analytics data model.Ad hoc analysis of strategic trends and though leadership pieces.Maintenance, standardisation and quality control of the data we receive from third parties. As part of this, would need to undertake regular validation of the data received from external sources.Operating the bespoke analytical software. This would include database maintenance, to ensure data integrity.Understand and interrogate the data, providing challenge, if necessary, to the team.Development and implementation of efficient data collection and processing methodologies to support analytical processes.Help develop and enhance other systems throughout Square Mile for the research, portfolio management and operations teams.Assist with any data migration projects and any potential changes to data providers.To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required.Adhere to consumer duty.SkillsHold a Maths or Science-based degree and/or qualification.Detailed knowledge of Excel and data visualisation software, such as Power BI or Tableau is a plusProficiency in programming languages, especially SQL or Python is required.Experience operating with data lakes and cloud platforms such as Azure is also welcome.The ability to analyse large amounts of information quickly.Good time management.This is an entry level position.
