We are a global early-stage investor, with a focus on pre-Seed to Series A across our core investment themes: Climate Tech, Industrial Tech, and Enterprise Software.About the RoleWe are looking for a highly driven and proactive individual to join our team as an Associate. Reporting to a Principal, you will work within our London-based investment team, sourcing and analysing new investment opportunities, supporting deal execution and reporting on portfolio performance. You will be encouraged to start building your own pattern recognition and professional network in the day-to-day role.Your Responsibilities● Sourcing New Investment Opportunities – Build a data driven approach to help assess and prioritise startup investment opportunities that are relevant to our mandate. You will be encouraged to expand your own network and build strong relationships with the most ambitious entrepreneurs, relevant investors and stakeholders.● Deal Execution – Support senior members of the investment team in the appraisal of new investment opportunities. You will be expected to perform a thorough analysis of business plans, markets, technology trends, as well as leading reference calls with experts across sectors. You will write investment memos and assist with due diligence and execution of Seed to Series B deals. ● Market Intelligence – Develop a deep understanding of appropriate investment verticals. Identify significant new market trends and potential opportunities for investments, providing in depth research and analysis to the InMotion Investment Team, with a view to informing investment decisions. You will help lead sector deep dives, build competitive landscapes, and learn how to size the short to long-term addressable market. ● Portfolio performance analysis – Actively support our existing portfolio companies alongside the Platform & Community team. You will work with our portfolio companies to collect up-to-date metrics on company performance and analyse quarterly financial information. From time to time there may be opportunities to provide more hands-on support to portfolio company founders.Essential Skills & Experience
2-4 years of work experience in investment (VC / PE) or product/operations/engineering at tech start-ups An established and growing network in the UK and European start-up and investment community Strong analytical ability with experience in building financial models, evaluating complex new business models, and delivering to tight deadlines Self-starter mentality with a strong work ethic, commercial acumen and communication skills Excellent academic track record (PhDs also welcome) Must be eligible for work in the UK Technical background (software development, AI) would be viewed favorably
