INVENTORY CONTROLLER
Location: Goole
Pay rate: £14.40-16.82/hr (equivalent to £(phone number removed)/annum)
Type of role: contract (with an opportunity of role become permanent with 6-12 months)
About Company
Our client is a prominent railway infrastructure company committed to excellence in the rail industry. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to join our team. As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels for our railway infrastructure projects. You will work closely with procurement, logistics, and project management teams to ensure that materials are available when needed and that inventory costs are minimized.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure excess stock management process is adhered to, develop improvements in conjunction with MC team and Forecasting team
• Working with the warehouse team to ensure correct stock held and evaluate any increase in stock holding is as expected
• Close working relationship with Demand planning, forecasting, Depots and Warehouse, Import/Export to ensure all stock held is monitored and maintained at the optimal levels to meet production and operational needs.
• Arrange regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records at depots, service facilities and warehouses
• Implement efficient inventory control procedures to minimize stock shortages or overages.
• Support provision of KPI / metrics in line with supply chain control tower approach
• Implement best practices for inventory management, including the use of technology and automation where applicable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline material handling processes and optimize inventory control systems.

Experience & Qualifications
• Good working knowledge of supply chain tools, processes, methods and reports.
• Planning and analytical skills, ability to collate and analyse data for decision making.
• Problem solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent oral communications, business writing skills and presentation skills.
• Self-directing, goal oriented and able to prioritise workloads.
• Robust knowledge or MRP/ERP systems.
• HNC/HND Level in Supply Chain and Logistics - advantageous
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Inventory Control, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of dealing with a broad range of stakeholders
