Elixir Distillers Ltd (EDL)EDL is a brand development and creation company in the drinks industry with a key focus on whisky and rum. We currently have five key brands - Black Tot Rum, Elements of Islay, Port Askaig, The Single Malts of Scotland and Highland Nectar - all growing exceptionally well and distributed in over 30 markets around the world. We are building a new distillery on the Island of Islay, named Portintruan, and recently acquired one of the most iconic distilleries in Speyside, Tomore Distillery, along with its mature inventory. Our aim is to create internationally recognised whisky brands from both distilleries in the coming years. Our vision is to create globally recognised brands, and this can only be achieved with the right people, the right skills, and the right culture.Overview of the roleAn exceptional opportunity has emerged for a proactive and experienced International Sales Manager to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. In this role you will utilise both your passion for the premium spirits industry and your keen understanding of international sales channels and distribution networks. Working closely with our partners across APAC, and GTR markets, you will build relationships with key players, organise training sessions, and plan promotional periods, while also exploring opportunities in new potential markets to expand our portfolio. As a pivotal member of the Elixir Distillers Team, you will represent our award-winning brands - Black Tot Rum, Elements of Islay, Port Askaig, and Highland Nectar – on the global stage. These brands offer a compelling portfolio that showcases our commitment to relentlessly pursue exceptional quality and flavour. Moreover, you will be at the forefront of exciting new product development initiatives, none more exciting than the launch of our Tormore Single Malt Whisky in 2025.Our ideal candidate thrives in a role where no two days are the same. Business acumen is a must as you'll work closely with the Commercial Director to set annual sales targets, devise strategic plans, and execute promotional activities in your markets. While you are a self-starter, collaboration is key as you work with the wider team at Elixir to ensure our global partners are set up for success. You will be working alongside the Marketing team to drive global initiatives; the Production and Design Team to project manage single cask offerings; and the Logistics team to ensure orders are shipped in a timely manner. The unique combination of strategy and creativity makes this position an extraordinary chance to thrive and make a meaningful impact on our team.Main responsibilitiesStrategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement sales plans to achieve company sales targets and objectives.Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with our APAC, and GTR partners, retailers, and key customers to grow sales and reputation of the Elixir Distillers portfolio of brands, agreeing ambitious, achievable goals.New Business Opportunities: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market share in existing and new territories.Cross Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives. Ensure a strong ROI and responsible investment in line with sales.Brand Training and Representation: Conduct training sessions for distributors, trade, and consumers, tailoring them to the specific needs of each market. Represent the company at industry events and trade shows to promote brand awareness and drive sales.Project Management: Working alongside the wider Elixir team to create a clear plan of single cask bottlings and customer/market exclusives for key markets.Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for executive management to provide insights into sales performance and market trends.Market Monitoring: Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends and competitor activities to inform decision making and identify areas for improvement.What we’re looking forProven track record of success in a customer-facing sales role within the premium spirits industry.Strong understanding of international sales channels and distribution networks – knowledge of APAC or GTR is preferential.Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindsetProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteConfident in public speakingWillingness to travel extensively to key export marketsImpeccable project management skills, with the ability to lead and prioritise multiple initiatives simultaneously.Skilled in working collaboratively with a wide range of different colleagues and across a range of disciplines, to achieve objectives with consensusUnderstanding of, and working with, an owner-led business and cultureAbility to speak foreign languages relevant to your markets is an advantagePassionate about spirits, ideally educated to at least WSET Level 2 Spirits or equivalent
