Overview

Carry out internal audits in line with MEH Alliance internal audit schedule, ensuring compliance and identifying improvements within the MEH. Supporting the Quality team and supporting improvement identification and activities within MEH.

About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a Internal Auditor you will be responsible for;

Liaising with appropriate internal business functions to develop and execute a comprehensive internal audit plan.

Schedule, plan and deliver internal audits in line with the annual audit plan, taking full responsibility for individual assignments from planning through to the issuing of audit reports.

Produce a comprehensive audit report on findings from each audit highlighting trends and recommending improvements.

Contribute to the development of robust management assurance processes.

Follow up on outstanding audit actions for implementation and closure.

Report outcome of Audit to Team Managers, Senior Management and appropriate stakeholders

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and solutions in collaborative way.

Agree recommendations with relevant staff members to make improvements.

Assisting and supporting the Quality Team to achieve individual and team objectives and defined performance indicators.

Management of stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for;

Qualifications in relevant discipline, HND/Degree (or equivalent experience for role).

Knowledge of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice for the UK Nuclear sector or other highly regulated industry

Lead ISO 9001:2015 auditor training complete and passed along with recent history of conducting audits.

Experience in progressively responsible Quality positions.

Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
