Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Nicholas Associates are partnered with an established groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in the North West. Operating as a sub-contractor for National and Regional housebuilders and developers.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The role will be full time on a permanent contract, within a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Commercial Director and/or Commercial Manager your duties will include for the following:

Duties include:

• Review of sub-contractor quotations and placement of any orders
• Preparation of pre-commencement contribution plan
• Submission of monthly interim valuations
• Site measurement
• Review of sub-contractor applications for payment with issue of any appropriate payment, pay less notices and certificates
• Preparation of monthly cost report including forecasting
• Review and action of any contractual correspondence
• Submission of final accounts
• Understanding of standard forms of construction contracts
• Attendance of site meetings and internal team meetings
• Client and design team interaction

Requirements and skills:

• Educated to degree qualification in quantity surveying
• Have 2 - 3+ years experience working in a Quantity Surveying role,
• Conversant in software packages such as Microsoft excel, word and outlook
• Main contracting experience
• Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
• Team player
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
