The Opportunity

• For the immediate future, this role is an opportunity for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (or Assistant QS ready to step up) to take the lead of a £10m rail civils scheme.
• However long term, this is an opportunity to climb the ranks of an industry leading rail, civils, and infrastructure contractor with a turnover of £80m+.

Location:

• Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
• Hybrid Working – 3 days on site / 2 days working from home.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day commercial running of a £10M project. This is an NEC3 option A contract which will include structures, reinforced concrete, p-way and signalling.
• Subcontract procurement, subcontract management, cost management, contract management, CVRs and final accounting.
• Liaising with the client and site teams to understand and report project progress, mitigating financial risks as and when they come up.

Remuneration

• Overall package of £50,000
• Basic salary £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
• Company car or car allowance (£4,000)
• Annual bonus paid before Christmas of circa £1,000.
• 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Flexible start and finish times with hybrid working on offer.

Essentials

• 2+ years quantity surveying experience.
• Experience with NEC forms of contracts.
• Managed projects valued upwards of £5million.
• Full UK Drivers Licence.

Desirable

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working in a Rail environment.
