Interim Group Financial Controller

Deliver best-in-class financial control team through effective team design, engagement, development, performance management and recruitment.Embed a robust internal controls and review framework to ensure accuracy of reported financial informationLead preparation of Group management results and consolidated statutory resultsLead an efficient and accurate monthly close process across all regions, achieving the highest quality of balance sheet review and reconciliationsManage balance sheet risks, opportunities and provisions, flagging impact on P&L and inputting to forecast/budget processes as appropriateMaximise working capital, applying commercial judgement to manage suppliers and customers with a focus on cashProvide financial assistance to subsidiaries, including management reporting guidance and cashflow statement support.Own consolidated financial statementsUnderstanding, interpreting and explaining the financial results and records of the operating businessesOur client is a PE-backed SME business with a blue-chip client base and a strong outlook for 2024.They need an Interim Group FC to provide support for the CFO and instill more rigour into the finance function around reporting, cashflow, working capital, AP, and AR.Skills/experience required:A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)Significant experience in controlling, accounting / consolidating / reportingSignificant experience in financial and management accounting, current accounting practices and methodsExperience of working with PE-backed businesses or similar environment where cash and working capital management is criticalProven track record of improving processes, instilling strong control environments and improving finance teamsAbility to operate at pace and balance competing priorities The role is based in London and you must be able to get to the office 2-3 days/week. The initial contract is intended to be 3 months.
