INTERIM FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Manufacturing and Distribution Group based in Petersfield, Hampshire has a requirement for an interim Financial Controller to undertake responsibility for the finance function and support the senior leadership in strategic and commercial decision making to support the continual growth and development of the business. 
What will the Interim Financial Controller role involve?
Reporting to the Managing Director, the key responsibilities of the Financial Controller position will include:


  • Day to day management of the finance function including supporting and ensuring the on-going development of the finance team;
  • Ensure the timely production of all monthly reporting and statutory returns including VAT;
  • Provision of monthly management accounts including undertaking any detailed analysis on any variance to budget;
  • Build effective working relationships with key non-finance stakeholders and department heads to ensure a full understanding of the business whilst also allowing the wider organisation to learn the value that the finance function can add;
  • Review of internal controls, systems and processes, identifying and implementing effective change where necessary whilst ensuring engagement with the wider business.


Suitable Candidate for the Interim Financial Controller vacancy:


  • Applicants for the position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of undertaking a similar position and a demonstrable track record of developing a finance function;
  • The successful candidate will be happy to be hands on whilst also capable of representing the business at a more senior level if required in the development of larger, more complex, corporate clients;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with non-finance managers will be essential to undertake the role successfully as will the ability to positively influence the leadership team in understanding the value a strong finance team can add to the continual development of the business.

  • Applicants for the position must be either immediately available or on short notice with previous experience of undertaking a similar position and working knowledge of Sage 200.
  • As the role involves a high level of interaction with the wider organisation, the role will be office based 5 days a week;
