Interim Financial Controller – Transport

Our client is a significant train operator who are industry leading in terms of financial, operation, safety and commercial performance. The main aim of the business is that it provides passenger railway services with an efficiency and effectiveness that customers require. As part of their ongoing analysis of the organisation, they have decided to recruit a high calibre finance professional who they need to work closely with the CFO and other team members on the day to day financial management of the business. This appointment will be on an interim basis for a minimum, initial period of six months.
The Main Responsibilities will be:
Day to day financial management of the organisation.
Working with the Head of Business Planning and the CFO ensuring the right financial probity across the business.
Delivering timely reporting and monthly accounts and management information to the Board.
Working with the CFO on specialist projects to enhance financial reporting standards.
Running a small team and ensuring best practice in all finance functions.
Supporting non-finance managers with the right financial data.
Acting as a business partner across the organisation.
The Successful Candidate will have:
Some years’ experience as a Financial Controller in industry.
A track record of running small finance teams (or divisional teams in larger businesses).
Ideally have a background in the transport industry.
Be either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
Be able to start this assignment in short order.
