Interim Chief Compliance and Legal Officer

Our client is a retail financial services fintech, who seek an Interim Chief Compliance and Legal Officer.
The role will strategically lead the compliance and legal team acting as the business GC. As a business partner to the CEO, executive, and wider business, the correct individual will understand how to drive the compliance function as a commercial enabler supporting the firm's GTM approach.
You will be one of the leaders in the firm's regulatory liaisons and relationships with stakeholders. From a legal lens, you will be responsible for the management of the in-house capability and external relationships with partner firms.
As an interim member of the executive team, you will be responsible for advice to the board on complex governance issues, or other matters, such as points under SMCR, etc.
The successful interim will have extensive experience as a Chief Compliance Officer / Compliance Director / Head of Compliance (have lead compliance) in a retail financial services firm and be a UK-qualified solicitor and held senior in-house legal roles, preferably having been a Head of Legal / GC. Knowledge and track record of working across unsecured finance products would also be preferable.
The role will require hybrid working in London, remunerated at a competitive day rate for an initial contract period of six months.
