Job DescriptionPrepare financial statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.Analyse and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal and private funding.Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.Resolve accounting discrepancies.Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases and systems.Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits. The Successful Applicant A successful Interim Accountant should have:A degree in Accounting or Finance.Experience in the public sector is desirable.Strong knowledge of cost accounting.Excellent financial analysis skills.Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports.
