Candidates will be around Grade 6 level minimum with a degree in music or a related field (i.e. musical theatre/music education) to join our team of specialist music teachers.Teaching days: Tuesdays 5.5 Hours per week (with view to increase) – EalingInstruments: KeyboardRate of Pay: Freelance basis – £22-27 per hourWhat we doSing Education source and train music teachers, develop teaching resources and provide management and consultancy services to schools in London, Yorkshire, Slough and Kent. We enable children to encounter the transformative power of music in their lives, by experiencing the joy of singing and making music collectively at school.Details:Weekly teaching, during school hours – 8.45am-3.30 term timePermanent placement in a Sing Education primary school/sTeaching 5.5 hours per week (with a view to increase if desired)Teaching locations: primary school in Ealing (other areas across London a future possibility if desired)Must have (or be willing to apply for through us) an Enhanced DBS DisclosureCommunicate professionally and clearly to represent Sing Education within a school setting*Person SpecificationQualificationUniversity graduate with a good degree in music or a related fieldEvidence of further professional developmentQTSKnowledge and SkillsExcellent spoken and written EnglishAbility to lead small group (up to 5 people) and one-to-one lessonsExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenBasic keyboard skills if not first instrumentA degree of ICT literacy and ability to use online systems such as G Suite and other communication platformsClassroom or one-to-one teaching experienceExperience of working with children or young people in a teaching or leadership capacity.Experience of working with children with SENDPersonal QualitiesAbility to lead and inspire a passion for music in pupilsA firm approach to discipline, and good management skillsThe ability to work well as part of both Sing Education and in-school teamsThe ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriateA sense of humourAn ability to generate enthusiasm for music in the wider life of the schoolA high level of personal organisation and good communication skillsA commitment to personal and company wider developmentSing Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo the child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and references from previous employers. For more information about the DBS please see post-holder will also be expected to read and adhere to the Sing Education Child Protection Policy, and any other Safeguarding documents stated within this.Part-time hours.
