Excellent opportunity on offer to join an international company who specialise in the manufacture, full testing and installation of fire door & non-fire door blanks, cores, frames, seals, hardware /door set components and more. They supply into a number of industries including fire, acoustic, commercial, residential, industrial, aviation and education sectors and have a fantastic international reputation.
This fantastic company offers exceptional technical expertise and the training support services required to manage, test, promote, specify and sell an exciting range of doors & door related products. They are experiencing rapid growth and continuing to expand their loyal client base worldwide and as such there is now an opening for an experienced Fire Door Inspection Supervisor to join the permanent team in a varied & interesting, field based / working from home role.
The purpose of this role is to provide increased capability within the Inspection Services team across the UK, enabling greater focus on technical and compliance outcomes with a client focused approach. You will perform a key role in the field, both with inspectors and clients across multiple projects and locations, motivating, supporting, and providing technical and delivery support. Working closely with the Asset & Inspection Manager and the wider Inspection Services team, you will assist in managing inspection projects & developing, and implementing a continuous training and development plan for the existing inspection team, alongside growing the team and its capabilities moving forwards.

The role:

  • Health & Safety: ensuring safe system of work practices are implemented and practiced.
  • Technical compliance: ensuring inspections are conducted to the correct technical protocols with correct compliance statuses and information. Where required provide assistance, guidance, and support to meet technical queries.
  • Productivity: target inspection team, monitor and deliver inspection jobs to agreed budgetary programmes.
  • Service delivery: establish efficient sequences of work for inspection works, reduce client disruption and no access to assets being inspected.
  • Training & development: review inspector capabilities against business requirements, develop and implement training programme.
  • Client relationship: manage client expectations, strive to deliver excellence, and seek opportunities to expand the relationship.


The candidate:

  • At least 3 years' relevant experience of fire door and fire compartment safety, this can be from installation of or inspection with a recognised qualification for the inspection of fire doors, FDIS/Bluesky are desirable. Other qualifications/training associated to passive fire protection would be an advantage.
  • The ability to provide clear communication and work in a team environment whilst leading the way forward. The ability to demonstrate an attention to detail, with a 'can do' attitude and clear mindset to problem solve and getting things right & to timelines.
  • Have a customer centric approach in delivering excellence and motivating others to do the same.
  • Demonstrate experience of using digital systems/apps and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must hold a valid current driving licence
