Sky Business is the B2B division of Sky which provides a TV and connectivity services to commercial premises across the UK and ROI.
This includes broadband, phone, connectivity and Wi-Fi packages to small and medium sized businesses, and television services, such as sports and entertainment for a range of sectors including hospitality (largely pubs, bars, and hotels)
The Insight Manager is a key business position within Sky Business’ Commercial & Marketing Department.
It represents the customer voice and delivers insight to shape business strategy using multiple methodologies covering brand tracking, creative evaluation, proposition development and segmentation.
What you’ll do:

Represent the objective voice of customers, not only in debriefs & outputs, but in your role as an advisor to the Sky Business team.

Brief & manage market research projects using a variety of methodologies, as well as leveraging Sky’s internal data sources and market intelligence, to ensure Sky Business’ product, proposition and marketing strategies are insight driven.

Create outputs appropriate for a senior audience which land relevant insights clearly and include actionable recommendations.

This role will drive ongoing brand monitoring - awareness and perception versus the competition - tracking market share in segments and developing stories and recommendations to inform an insight-led marketing strategy.

This role will need to increase the effectiveness of marketing spend; also addressing white-space opportunities for new products, pricing, packaging, brand, and creative messaging.
Emphasis on relationship management of partner agencies and building relationships with stakeholders to plan insight to help deliver business targets.

This role will use research and insight to unpick consumer behaviour (especially in the hospitality sector) and present the findings and implications to stakeholders both internal and external.

This role will keep abreast of external market and macro insight impacting UK and ROI businesses and sectors, and report this in a timely and succinct manner to stakeholders.

The role will help support the Insight Controller to connect the dots so that the business can react quickly to internal business decisions and competitors.

You will support the Insight Controller in the management of the Research & Insight budget and will need to be able to operate cross-functionally with core stakeholders from other areas of the business.
What you'll bring:
In terms of background, 'Sky Business' will ideally be looking for strong 4-5 years research and insight experience.
Familiarity with B2B businesses and a subscription model product is desirable; but the team are looking for an individual who is passionate, inquisitive, and looking to grow as well as build their career in a dynamic team and business.

Experience working directly with market research (qualitative and/or quantitative); either running it as part of an agency or commissioning as part of a client team. Your experience will have helped answer business questions or test new ideas.

At least 4-5 years of experience either agency or client side and a hunger to take the next step in your research/insight career.

B2B or Telecommunications, experience desirable

A strong understanding of Media, Content and Consumer Technology markets.

Understanding of the Sports market is desirable

An independent and energetic approach to the role, a clear passion for market research and insights, with experience working in fast-paced environments

A consistent track record of managing multiple priorities, including evidence of strong partner management and ability to collaborate.

Market research subject matter expertise across commercial, product & props and consumer insights – ability to apply a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques to answer business questions.

A confident communicator and presenter, having done so up to a Head of Department level.
