Overview
As Innovation Consultant at Arthur D. Little you will take ownership for the delivery of important parts of the assignment under coordination and supervision of your case manager.
Arthur D. Little (ADL) is a global strategy and operations management consultancy with operations in over 40 countries globally.
ADL’s functional Innovation Practice delivers strategy and operations management consultancy assignments to science and technology intensive industries. We work with some of the world’s largest blue-chip companies and leading research institutions worldwide.
Arthur D. Little is currently looking for an experienced consultant with a strong track record in delivering and assignments in business strategy and performance improvement, focusing especially on innovation, growth, science and technology and/or R&D.
Experience in the manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, chemicals, materials or life sciences
industries or energy sector is preferred, but other sectors such as, telecoms and transport also considered.
Working on the delivery of consulting assignments in the range of £30k to £300k, including active participation in supporting sales and lead generation.
Responsibilities
Leading workstreams of consultants and analysis in the delivery of client assignments, usually reporting to either a Principal or Partner in charge
Active participation in business development activities including sales, lead generation and networking
Preparing proposals and pitches
Developing and coaching more junior colleagues
Contributing to the Practice's intellectual capital (solution offering, articles, thought leadership)
As a Consultant you support across practices
Qualifications
A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in some or all of the following:
Innovation strategy management
Product strategy and development
Business Strategy development, growth strategy, including supporting analysis
R&D strategy, portfolio optimisation
R&D organisations development
Technology strategy and management
Innovation management and improvement
Previous experience in a business or management role is highly desirable.
Sector experience in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, chemicals or materials preferred, but other sector such as energy, telecoms and transport also considered.
At least 2 years of your work experience should be based in a consulting environment but we also welcome candidates who have industry experience in a relevant role (innovation, NPD, Strategy etc) following your work in consulting.

Qualification:
At least 2.1 Honours Degree, MSc or PhD.
Technical or science discipline is a strong preference
Some travel should be expected.
