Our client is an established and well-regarded Civil Engineering Consultancy looking for someone with experience of Road and Drainage Design for Residential and Commercial Builds. However, they would also consider someone who is currently working as an Engineering Technician looking to develop into this role.

They deliver Road & Sewer Design packages for Residential Housing from 20 units through to large, phased developments in the hundreds. They work with other Design Consultancies and their Clients to co-ordinate our design packages and liaise with Local Authorities to secure Technical Approvals.

They hold ISO 9001 Quality Management recognition, which reflects their continual strive for Excellence in the quality of our Design Packages and the overall service package they deliver to their Clients.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take responsibility for delivering such design packages and develop their Consultancy Skills.

The Role:

  • You will work as part of a collaborative team in an open plan space, aiming for the best and most cost-effective Engineering Solutions for your Clients.
  • As a lead on key projects you will be expected to provide Quality excellence in the packages you deliver and the client relationships you build.
  • You will be working in a small team and so you will be involved across all aspects of the project and responsible for creating the detailed design.

What you need to succeed:

Essential

  • Competency in producing detailed designs in AutoCAD
  • Experience of drainage design using WinDes Micro Drainage and knowledge of PDS
  • A working knowledge of Section 104 and Section 38/278 highways agreements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Pragmatic problem solver
  • Experience of Civils 3D
  • Good negotiation skills with clients and authorities
