Job DescriptionIT Business Partner Team Leader - Digital TransformationAbout the Client: Our client is one of the region’s most prestigious employers, centrally located in Derby. They require an individual who will act as a manager a small team of IT Business Partners who act as an interface between the business and technology teams, a human conduit that will work energetically to deliver technology transformation and innovation.About the Role: Amidst rapid enterprise-wide change, our client is seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Departmental Manager to lead the IT Business Partners (IT BP) team and bridge the gap between business planning and project initiation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, high-visibility team of IT Business Partners who support innovative department leaders. In this role, you'll ensure that IT initiatives are seamlessly onboarded, ultimately delivering measurable benefits in cost, time, and productivity. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Escalation Management: Mentor and lead the IT BP team, balancing project workloads while providing escalation support for business requests.Programme Plan & Resource Tracking: Integrate Business Partner inputs into the Business Systems team's programme plan and resource tracker.Reporting & KPI Management: Ensure accurate Business Partner reporting to directorates and the Business Systems Manager, aligning with established KPIs.Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary contact between business functions and IT support teams. Conduct regular meetings to understand business goals, system issues, and pain points.Operational Needs Analysis: Evaluate and document IT and operational requirements, collaborating with analysts to understand data flows and system integration points.System Portfolio Management: Ensure the systems portfolio is well-documented, understood, and aligns with business ownership and IT interfaces.Strategic Alignment: Develop and gain agreement on applications and systems strategy that integrates with the overall digital roadmap.Process Mapping & Continuous Improvement: Map business processes to identify pain points, develop to-be processes, and promote continuous improvement.Vendor Selection: Lead vendor selection for new business system solutions in partnership with the procurement department.Business Justification Papers: Craft business justification papers to secure executive approval for systems plans.Project Management: Oversee business system projects from requirements definition to design, development, and technical implementation.Supplier Management: Foster relationships with system suppliers to align portfolios to strategy and minimize shadow IT.Cloud Strategy Support: Maintain system stability and ensure changes align with IT change control and PMO processes.PMO & Project Methodology: Ensure projects align with PMO methodologies and maintain relevant documentation for the project lifecycle.System Integration Awareness: Recognize implications across IT and business processes via system architecture touchpoints.Seamless Implementations: Collaborate with IT support teams for smooth implementations, upgrades, and transitions to business as usual.End User Support: Train end users on new technologies, address issues, and provide feedback to IT support teams.Senior Stakeholder Influence: Persuasively influence senior stakeholders with tailored communication styles.Sustainability Commitment: Contribute to sustainability efforts by minimizing environmental impact.Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience managing IT Business Partners or similar teams.Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMO, Agile).Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience developing strategic IT roadmaps that align with business goals.Familiarity with cloud-first strategies and IT change control processes.Solid understanding of system architecture and data flows.This is an opportunity to work closely with forward-thinking department leaders, shape IT strategy, and contribute significantly to the organisation’s digital transformation.Why This Opportunity Matters: This role is not only crucial for the client's digital transformation journey but also a unique gateway for your career advancement.
