Job ID: 18111Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Division, Mission Systems Branch (MSB) is seeking an Information System Engineer to ensure the successful program execution for Distributed Common Ground System- Marine Corps (DCGS-MC) Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) program.Candidate must be detail-oriented with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. It is critical to be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, be self-motivated, reliable and have the ability to initiate tasks independently. Join our team in our seventh decade of delivering mission success.Key Responsibilities:In this role, you will work with the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Lead System Engineer to help ensure that the DCGS-MC GEOINT program is designed, built, and fielded to meet requirements and enable flawless operations. You will be supporting the U.S. government to provide insight into the architecture and multi-level software designs of complex systems. To effectively perform your responsibilities, you will need a working knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition lifecycle with focus on assessment of all aspects of engineer design from requirements to the final system integration test plan.You will:Work side-by-side with the customer as a subject matter expertHelp ensure that all hardware and software are designed to integrate with minimal issuesWork directly with representatives of several other corporate entities dailyParticipate in software requirements and design analysis, threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, secure software architecture analysis, software test evaluation, and integration of applicationsParticipate in program and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and analyze procurement specifications and data packages; Test and Evaluation (T&E) suitability/supportability documentation; and provides technical recommendations on Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and/or spiral upgradesAssists in the installation and configuration of information systems and componentsBe responsible for documentation of assigned systems and solutionsReview and assist in enhancing current engineering processesHave the ability to present at technical conferences or meetingsRequired Qualifications:Must be a U.S. citizenMust be able to obtain a DoD security clearance (TS/SCI)Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical field5+ years experience Ability to work effectively in a team environment on collaborative efforts involving both internal and external team membersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform engineering trade-offs between customer requirements, schedule deadlines, program funding, and engineering best practicesAbility to work effectively in a team environment on collaborative efforts involving both internal and external team membersKnowledge of the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG)Experience with Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF)Must be able to travel, though not a normal expectationPreferred Qualifications:Active DoD security clearance (TS/SCI)Experience with system software and hardware management and employmentFamiliarity with policies and procedures related to systems engineering processes and acquisition and modernization of Marine Corps systemsExperience with briefing senior Marine Corps personnelAbility to track, process, produce and distribute deliverables and monitor comment status, collect, and analyze performance dataParticipate in program management reviews and prepare and coordinate inputs for acquisition documentation, status reports, briefings, and information inquiriesSDL Benefits:At SDL, we take pride in and highly value our employees.
