The council’sInformation Governance (IG) Team is a service dedicated to ensuring the councilremains compliant with legislation such as GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 andthe Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoI). The team manages external requests for information and provides help andadvice on data protection, information security and records management to teamswithin the council.
We currently have anexciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on oursuccess and bring new experience, knowledge, and ideas into the team.
The InformationGovernance Team is part of the Resource & Transformation directorate basedat the Civic Centre in Swinton. However, the council has adopted a hybridworking pattern with a mixture of office and home working.

You will beself-motivated and able to prioritise your own workload to meet tightdeadlines. Knowledge of data protection legislation would be beneficial butstrong IT and organisational skills are essential.
Aboutthe role
As a member of the IGteam, you will help to deliver a professional compliance programme for thecouncil, taking on your own caseload of requests from individual’s exercisingtheir rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR). This involvessourcing records, preparing, and disclosing those records as appropriate inaccordance with the law.
You will also assist inlogging, allocating and coordinating all requests for information.
