The role of the Infant Feeding Team is to promote close and loving relationships between parents and their babies which includes building a positive breastfeeding culture within the community. The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative provides the standards to which the Health Visiting teams work, with Southwark working towards full accreditation and Lambeth working towards reaccreditation and Gold Award.To further develop the process of UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation, building on the stage 2 standards alreadyachieved and embed Baby Friendly care in a community setting that leads to achieving Sustainability and the Gold Award. Supporting health visiting teams with training, staff and mothers' audits and universal support.Provide specialist support to women with additional breast feeding needs.
