Independent End Point Assessor (Hospitality)Independent End Point Assessor (IEA) - HospitalityRemote/Freelance - covering the North East/London areas.About Us:Assessu is part of the Remit Group. The business is independently operated by an experienced board of directors and managers from across the education and training sector, offering a unique balance of industry insight, knowledge and expertise to provide every employer and their apprentices with a fair and quality assured end point assessment experience.Purpose of the Role:The role of an Associate IEA is to provide independent, fair, reliable and consistent assessment services to Assessu clients either remotely or within their workplace. This includes conducting end point assessments, forming judgements on competency and providing the assessment outcome.Plan and conduct planning meetings with allocated learners and employers in a timely manner.Schedule assessments with learners and employers according to agreed timescales.Conduct fair and consistent assessments within own specialist sector including observations, projects, professional discussions and presentations.Invigilate exams where required, ensuring controlled conditions are maintained.Manage allocated learners to ensure all stages of the EPA journey are completed timely and to the expected standard.Make judgements on a learner’s knowledge, skills and behaviours within specialist sector and record outcomes on relevant documentation.Communicate with learners and employers to support the assessment process.Update the relevant systems as required throughout the planning and assessment process in accordance with agreed timescales.Ensure learners are scored or graded in line with assessment plan requirements.Provide high quality feedback for all learners on their assessment performance and outcomes.Maintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, assessments, reports and quality assurance activities.To ensure assessments meet external quality assurance requirements.Attend training and standardisation sessions as required.Ensure all reports and evidence are high quality and recorded accurately.Be responsible for maintaining ongoing CPD to support assessment practice and industry competence.Raise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment.To uphold and promote organisational policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work and also including the Equality and Diversity and procedures.Conduct internal quality assurance activities including sampling and live assessment observations.Acting as a subject matter expert and supporting the development of assessment materials through question writing and review.Qualifications:Educated to GCSE level grade C or above including Maths and English (or equivalent)Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, Award in EPA)Sector Specific Requirements:At least 3 years’ experience in a hosptiality at management level (front and/or back of house)Commitment to complete industry CPD on an annual basisSkills and Knowledge:Ability to travel to locations throughout the UK as required and stay overnight where requiredCompetent in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Office and web conferencing systemsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to write constructive feedbackAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism and protect the integrity of assessmentsAn ability to put learners at ease and display empathyExcellent organisational skills with the ability to work within specified SLAsKnowledge of EPA assessment activities and methodologies.Remit Training is an Investors in People and Platinum Health & Wellbeing awarded employer who pride ourselves on being a company putting our learners and colleagues at the heart of everything we do, and are committed to the support and education of mental health to work towards improving the culture and stigma tied to it, for all individuals.
