Job DescriptionIn House Lawyer. Transport Company. 6-9 month Assignment. 4++ PQEOur client is a leading transport company. They are looking for a corporate commercial lawyer to join their in house legal team for a 6-9 month period. Whilst the assignment is for an initial duration of 6-9 months, there is a chance of further extension or permanency. Successful individuals will be expected to spend 3-4 days per week in their London office, with the remainder working from home. The assignment is to start ASAP.The successful individual will be joining a close knit, friendly and collegiate legal team and can expect to be involved in a range of corporate and commercial matters. Responsibilities will include:Providing accurate and concise legal advice to Procurement and IT teamsDrafting commercial contracts across all areas of the business (including IT and general procurement), with a particular emphasis on IT contractsAdvise and negotiate on supplier’s standard terms, particularly SaaS terms, software maintenance and support agreements, payment services and IT hardware purchase and maintenance contracts Attend and support Procurement in negotiations with suppliersProvide legal advice to the business regarding required contractual terms and compliance with UK GDPRSupporting on corporate M&A matters, including drafting and negotiating legal termsUndertaking M&A due diligence reviewsIt is likely that successful individuals will be able to demonstrate:Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia and/or New Zealand, for example)Upwards of 4 years’ experience in handling a broad range of corporate and commercial matters (specifically those mentioned above)A strong Private Practice background with experience working within a fast-paced In House Legal TeamThe ability to work to tight deadlines and timeframesThe ability to prioritise a busy caseloadA willingness to work as part of a cohesive legal teamDue to the urgency of the requirement, lawyers should be available at short notice or immediately.
